AC Repair in Covington, LA

Covington, LA’s Premier AC Repair: Keeping You Comfortable Year-Round

When your air conditioner quits during a Covington summer, comfort turns to worry in a matter of hours. In a climate where July highs sit in the 90s with brutal humidity, a broken cooling system isn't a minor inconvenience, it's a health and safety concern for families, pets, and older homes that hold heat. Covington's mix of long-established homes near the Bogue Falaya and newer construction off Highway 190 means AC systems here work hard year-round and rarely get the offseason break they'd get up north.

At Air Orleans, our owners bring 30 and 7 years of hands-on HVAC experience, and our technicians are NATE-certified and EPA Section 608 certified for safe refrigerant handling. We diagnose the real cause of the breakdown, not just the symptom, so your air conditioner in Covington gets fixed right the first time with our air conditioning services.

What's Included in Our AC Repair in Covington, LA

We follow a clear, step-by-step process on every air conditioner repair in Covington so nothing gets missed:

Full system inspection: we check the indoor and outdoor units, electrical connections, and airflow.
Diagnostic testing: we measure refrigerant pressures, voltage, temperature split, and airflow to pinpoint the fault.
Root-cause analysis: we identify why the part failed, not just which part failed, so the problem doesn't repeat.
Clear recommendations: we explain what's wrong in plain language, with no pressure and no upselling.
Flat-rate pricing up front: you approve the cost before we lift a wrench.
Repair and performance testing: after the fix, we run the system and confirm it's cooling to spec.
Final walkthrough: we show you what we did and share tips to prevent a repeat breakdown.

Because we serve both South Shore and North Shore homes, our Covington technicians know the local housing stock and the way the heat here stresses equipment.

Should You Repair or Replace? AC Repair in Covington, LA Guide

Not every failing air conditioner needs replacing. Here's how we help Covington homeowners decide honestly:

Repair when:

Your system is under 10 years old
The repair cost is less than 30–40% of a new system
The unit still cools well between issues
It's a single failed part, a capacitor, contactor, or motor
The refrigerant is a current, widely available type

Replace when:

The system is 12–15+ years old and breaking down repeatedly
Repair costs approach or exceed 40% of replacement
The compressor has failed on an aging unit
It uses discontinued R-22 refrigerant, which is costly and hard to source
Your Entergy bills keep climbing despite repairs

If replacement makes more sense, we'll say so plainly and we install efficient ENERGY STAR–rated Amana systems. But if a repair will genuinely get you more good years, that's what we'll recommend.

Cost of AC Repair in Covington, LA

Most AC repairs in Covington range from roughly $150 to $1,200, depending on the failed part, system age, and how quickly the problem is caught. Because we use flat-rate pricing, you'll always know the number before we begin.

Minor repair (~$150–$350): Replacing a worn capacitor or contactor, clearing a clogged condensate drain line, or a thermostat fix.
Mid-range repair (~$400–$800): Fan motor replacement, refrigerant leak repair with recharge, or an electrical control board.
Major repair (~$900–$1,200+): Compressor issues or significant coil repair on an older unit.

Factors that affect your price:

Age and brand of your system
Which component failed and part availability
Refrigerant type and amount needed
Whether the repair happens during standard or after-hours service
Accessibility of the equipment
